WORSHIP ARTS ASSISTANT

POSITION SUMMARY

The Worship Arts Assistant will provide support to our Creative Arts team by using their musical or arts skills in planning, developing and facilitating both live and pre-recorded services, as well as creative content.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrates a commitment to growing in Christ.

  • Agreement with the statements of faith, vision and values of Bethany Community Church.

  • A passion for music, worship and storytelling through various mediums.

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: music bands, leading worship, live technical arts.

  • Experience and demonstrable skills in leading volunteers would be an asset.

  • A current vulnerable sector police background check.

  • Weekend availability.

ACCOUNTABILITY

The Worship Arts Assistant will be directly accountable to the Pastor of Creative Arts.

MAIN DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Working in conjunction with and under the supervision of the Pastor of Creative Arts, this position is for 36 hours per week and will include:

  • Participation in the planning, implementation and evaluation of Bethany’s live services and creative content.  

  • Facilitate and/or perform in weekly Sunday Services.

  • Coach a team of volunteers in assigned tasks.

  • Champion the values and goals of the Creative Arts Department.  

  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, charting, instrument/equipment maintenance, etc. 

  • Prepare progress reports.

  • Ensure all Public Health guidelines and best practices are adhered to.

TERMS

36 hours per week, duration of 16 weeks* starting May 6th, 2024. Paid hourly wage.

*this position is based off government funding, duration in weeks may vary
