CAMP BETHANY WORKER

POSITION SUMMARY

  • The Camp Bethany Worker will provide assistance to our Family Life staff and use their gifts to lead Camp Bethany day camp.

  • Bethany Community Church will provide training and ongoing coaching in family ministry to the coordinators and encourage them to develop their gifts and passion as they relate to lifelong service in the Kingdom of God.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrates a commitment to growing in Christ.

  • Agreement with the statements of faith, vision and values of Bethany Community Church.

  • Compassion for children and teens and a strong desire to serve them.

  • Experience in serving children and students

  • Experience and demonstrable skills in directing volunteers.

  • A current vulnerable sector police background check.

ACCOUNTABILITY

The Camp Bethany Worker will be directly accountable to the Pastor of Family Life.

MAIN DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Working in conjunction with and under the supervision of the Pastor of Family Life, this position is for 40 hours per week and will include:

  • Take the lead in the planning, promotion, implementation, and evaluation of Camp Bethany and our weekly summer program for youth and families

  • Ensure all Public Health guidelines and best practices are adhered to

  • Coach a team of volunteers

  • Provide direct care for students and children

  • Process and track Camp Bethany registration and attendance for follow-up care

  • Participate in weekly coaching huddle

  • Prepare progress reports

TERMS

40 hours per week, duration of 9 weeks starting June 24, 2024. Paid hourly wage.
