January - March
Spring has finally arrived! One of my favorite seasons is spring and I am seeing evidence of it all around. I am being woken up by thunderstorms, and then greeted in the morning by birds singing. Just the other day I went to work wearing a t-shirt instead of a winter jacket. We have much to be thankful for after many months of winter. As I reflect on the finances of Bethany, I am so thankful to every one of you. Your generosity has enabled us to accomplish so many wonderful things alongside God in our community. As we look towards the last quarter of our fiscal year, we hope to end strong. Every month donations have been on track with our budget, and expenses have been tracking under budget. If donations continue to stay steady, and staff continue to spend wisely, we will end the year with a surplus. With hard work and faithful support, we have turned a corner from yearly deficits to surpluses. Once again, thank you for your continued trust in our leadership and for partnering with us.
A few administrative notes:
If you are signed up for recurring giving through your credit card, you should have received communication about switching to our new giving platform. If you have not done so yet, please make this change before the end of May. In person support will be available at the Give Wall after each Sunday service if you have any difficulties.
Tax Donation receipts for 2025 were sent via email in March 2025 (for January - February) and in February 2026 (for March - December). If you did not receive your receipt, please email accounting@bethanycc.ca.

CHALLENGE
Easter reminds us of God’s generous nature, that he loves us so much, that he gave us his only Son. In response, we are called to be generous, not because God needs our money, but because he knows a generous heart is beneficial to us. When we give, we find purpose beyond ourselves, we loosen the grip materialism and greed has on our lives, and we show God that we trust in him. Research has shown that generosity increases personal happiness and life satisfaction. It helps to reduce stress as it focuses our attention on others.
In response to Easter and Jesus’ sacrifice for us, I challenge you to give more this month than you did in the last. I invite you to give God the best that you have, not just the leftovers. So may you join with us in giving this month in response to all that God has given us.
