POSITION SUMMARY
Manage all aspects of Camp Bethany’s lunch program to provide nutritious lunches and snacks for our large and diverse group of campers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrates a commitment to growing in Christ.
Agreement with the statements of faith, vision and values of Bethany Community Church.
Compassion for children and teens and a strong desire to serve them.
Experience in serving children and students.
Experience and demonstrable skills in directing volunteers.
A current vulnerable sector police background check.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Camp Bethany Cook will be directly accountable to the Pastor of Family Life.
MAIN DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Working in conjunction with and under the supervision of the Pastor of Family Life, this position is for 40 hours per week and will include:
Perform menu and nutrition planning, food costing, purchasing, scheduling and receiving deliveries and checking product quality and quantity
Prepare meals using bulk-cooking methods in conventional, cook-chill or cook-freeze environments.
Prepare food to meet individual dietary needs, including health, religious needs, ethnic preferences and budgetary requirements for our diverse group of campers.
Estimate food consumption to anticipate purchases or requisitions.
Practice according to food safety standards for hygiene, sanitation and safety.
TERMS
20-40 hours per week, duration of 10 weeks*. Paid hourly wage.
