POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant will provide support to First Impressions & Welcoming at Bethany, through managing the volunteer welcoming team, scheduling, planning, facilitating events, both live and pre-recorded services, as well as creative content.

An understanding and desire for hospitality.
A creative eye for creating warm and welcoming spaces.
An understanding of online systems and processes.
Experience in leading volunteers would be an asset.
A current vulnerable sector police background check.
Weekend availability.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The First Impressions & Welcoming Assistant will be directly accountable to the First Impressions & Welcoming Director.
MAIN DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Working in conjunction with and under the supervision of the First Impressions & Welcoming Director, this position is for 36 hours per week and will include:
Participation in the planning, implementation and evaluation of Bethany’s first impressions and welcoming department.
Creating and facilitating welcoming spaces and procedures for people to feel welcome and easily access appropriate programs for their needs.
Assisting with planning, organizing and training welcoming volunteers and any events or meetings.
Facilitating the inclusion of attenders, with a focus on support for those with disabilities and/or marginalized people.
Championing the values and goals of First Impressions & Welcoming.
Assisting with administrative tasks such as scheduling, event planning, set-up and tear-down (including tech), ordering/purchasing/stocking supplies, cleaning/organizing welcoming areas, and corresponding with volunteers and newcomers.
Assisting with reception and other front-desk administrative tasks, as needed.
Preparing progress reports.
Ensure all Public Health guidelines and best practices are adhered to.
TERMS
36 hours per week, duration of 16 weeks*. Paid hourly wage.
SALARY RANGE: $16.60-$19.10
